Pool Vardiff

We use the ASERT difficulty adjustment for pool’s difficulty adjustment. We ran simulations (using LLMs) to analyse various difficulty adjustment algorithms. The results are in daa simulation report.

Our goals were to select a DAA algorithm that shows resistance to various hashrate attacks like oscillating hashrate attack, sudden 90% drop and noisy random oscillations. The methodology followed is at daa evaluation.

The results showed using ASERT would provide the most attack resistance. The parameters we provided were a target block rate of 10s and maximum uncle depth of 3, with PPLNS accounting.
